Free Online Play Reading Activity – Crane Creations

Join us for a free online play reading activity on September 19 2024.

Play Date is an online monthly play reading activity by Crane Creations Theatre Company where you can read or listen to a play, live on Zoom. Play Date is a great activity if you want to practice English by reading aloud, are a lover of theatre and want to read great plays from around the world, or want to connect with other people. 

This month we are reading Christina, The Girl King by Michel Marc Bouchard, translated by Linda Gaboriau.

About The Play

Christina, The Girl King is a biographical drama about the historical figure Christine, Queen of Sweden. Christina, crowned queen at the tender age of six, lives an extraordinary life, in a time of tumultuous time of change. A highly intelligent and rebellious spirit, Christina struggles to marry and produce and heir, her duty as queen. Instead she becomes infatuated by her lady-in-waiting. Torn between tradition and modernity, duty and passion, Christina must steer her catholic country into the Age of Reason.
