Singers and music lovers! Celebrate PRIDE at the next edition of West Vocal Jam featuring Canada’s celebrated Mandy Goodhandy! You are welcome to a new event created to support vocalists in an encouraging environment. We have a provided backing band to play for you. You are invited to Mississauga for the next edition of West Vocal Jam on Monday, June 23 at 7pm at the Crooked Cue in Port Credit.
Due to demand, singers are asked to email hcb@rogers.com to pre-register to have a guaranteed performance spot. ALL ATTENDEES are welcome to pay-what-you-can in lieu of a cover charge. Suggested donation of $10-$20.

Our house band consists of our Jazz pianist Thomas Francis with Pat Collins on acoustic bass. Singers – bring 2 copies of your lead sheets for the band. Please note – no sheet music or multiple pages. COVID protocols: we will change our microphone coverings between each singer and sanitize. Location: – We are a 5 minute walk from the Port Credit GO Train Station and there is free parking available. – We are a 20 minute drive from downtown Toronto.

Mandy is a celebrated stand-up comedian, singer, author, and speaker. Her connections to our city of Mississauga run deep as she spent her middle and high school years in Streetsville and later Meadowvale while attending Sheridan College’s two year Business course followed by the two year Musical Theatre program.
A trail blazing artist, Mandy went on to become Canada’s first trans woman stand-up comic. A captivating performer, Mandy has appeared at various comedy clubs including Yuk Yuks, Absolute Comedy, Comedy Bar, Corner Comedy Club, 120 Diner & Mandy’s Bistro.
In 2018 Mandy put her unique life experiences into her autobiographical book and debut recording produced by Mississauga’s Anthony Panacci “Just Call Me Lady”. In 2019 she presented her very own musical by the same title.
With her love of live entertainment she opened 120 Diner in 2012 which was a fixture in the downtown arts scene. At 120 she provided countless opportunities to artists from the Toronto and Mississauga arts community to perform on 120’s welcoming stage.
After losing both her restaurant and nightclub in 2020 due to COVID, she opened her new live entertainment spot Mandy’s Bistro (2022) at 123 Danforth in Toronto. Now under new ownership as the Epochal Imp. Where she still helps with booking live comedy and music acts. Plus for the past three years has booked live bands for the Broadview/Danforth BIA’s outdoor summer music festival BDBeats.
Mandy was the first Canadian Transgender woman to be accepted to participate in SheDot. Toronto’s Festival of funny woman 2015, with headliner Margaret Cho. In 2016 she celebrated another milestone becoming the first transgender woman to be accepted into the prestigious Toronto Jazz Festival 2016.
