The Calliope Muses presents
Blithe Spirit. A farce by Noël Coward
Directed by Cheryl McClennan
Get ready for a hilarious night filled with witty ghosts and cheeky laughs in this classic Noel Coward comedy.
Blithe Spirit is a comic play in three acts. The play concerns the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when his former wife, Elvira, returns as a ghost and wants him back. Elvira makes every attempt to disrupt Charles’s marriage to his second wife, Ruth. Ruth, who can neither see nor hear Elvira, is quite sure that Charles is either going mad or playing a very nasty prank on her.
All performances held at the MIST theatre (Inside the CCT Building) at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
