Bridge Over Time – Art-Photography Exhibition (Georgetown)

November 1 - November 30
Free

Bridge Over Time hangs November 1 – 30 at the Heather’s Bakery Cafe in Georgetown. It is both an art-photography show and educational exhibit exploring the history and future of photography. Many of the pieces were juried into shows ecmunson registered with the renown CONTACT Photography Festival from 2022 through 2025. The show features a rich spectrum of lens-based work from the ‘Group of 8’ photographers whose art practices and perspectives offer much breadth and depth.

The Group of 8 Photographers work encompasses many genres, but it is the intentionality of their captures that deem it to be … art photography.

  • journalistic photography and documentation
  • social justice work in Canadian and international communities
  • environmental portraiture and candid captures
  • street photography and humanist photography
  • atmospheric landscapes and ‘the art of abandonment’
  • studio work with portraiture and product images

The Group of 8 members include: Greg Coman, Colleen Dee, Sarbina Leeder, ecmunson, Frank Myers, Andrzej Pradzynski, Sherry Prenevost, and Aditi Ganeev Sangwan. They have exhibited in Munson’s past five juried CONTACT shows. Their varied and vital support has included adjudication, physical configuration of the exhibition venues, curation and hanging of pieces, plus several have given workshops, done presentations, and sat on panels.

All the exhibitors have established arts practices that include: showing internationally, entering juried exhibitions, solo shows, memberships in professional societies and arts groups, and work in global collections. The various printing media/strata used includes photographic prints with archival pigmented inks, lens-based images rendered on polished aluminum, canvas, acrylic panels, fabrics, and watercolour art paper. Some of the group do their own digital prints, another has evolved a signature approach to painterly manipulation of the image, while two others work with analogue images and cyanotype printing.
