The Mississauga Music Awards ended Mississauga Music Week with a bang at the Living Arts Centre.
Mississauga Arts Council (MAC)’s Executive Director, Mike Douglas helped kick off the event on Saturday, September 14 at the Living Arts Centre’s Studio Theatre. The night was full of pride for Mississauga’s music community, clearly demonstrating why Mississauga was named Music City of the Year by the Canadian Live Music Association and Canadian Music Week in 2023.
The stage lit up with performances by Jade Hilton (winner of Songwriter of the Year), Mikey Bloom, Arlene & The People (winners of Best Live Artist/Band), and The Snake Charmer (winner of Musician of the Year and Best Online Content).
MAC’s Communications Manager, Sherri Parliament, presented the Best Local Promoter award to Ed Sousa of the Sousa Group. Finalists included over 15 MAC members including Elyse Saunders, Maame G, JSAL, Jennifer Cortez, Natalie G, Jenna, Patti Jannetta Baker, Oleyada, Tennyson King, The Snake Charmer, Arlene & The People, Mikey Bloom, The Boneheads, Heather Christine, Paula Carvalho, Bree Taylor, and more.
