Laura Beaton will be exhibiting brand new Chinese Brush Painting art titled ‘Road to Golden Mountain’, at the TIFF Bell Lightbox from May 13-22, sponsored by Asian Arts & Culture Trust and in support of the ‘Conversations with Elders’ project in celebration of Asian Heritage Month.

The art is based on the memoirs of Mr. Alan K. Joe and his journey throughout China in the 1940s that ultimately led to immigration to Toronto in the 1950.  I enjoyed the historical insights this memoir provides of world events and their impact on civilians.  Mr. Joe’s immigrant story of becoming a Canadian success in all that matters, is truly inspiring. Reading this book was time well spent.
