Laura Beaton will be exhibiting her award winning sumi-e abstract art, ‘Water Logged V2’ as The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre presents Friendship Through Culture (2026), a community arts exhibition exploring how culture shapes connection, belonging, and shared memory.

Once a quiet expression of resilience, the phrase now reflects diverse diasporic, generational, and hybrid experiences—inviting us to consider how culture preserves the past while creating new ways of living together.

On at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre from March 1-May 29.
