Join us for ROM at the Library, a series where museum exhibits and objects spark meaningful dialogue. Explore a theme, hear from others, and add your voice to the conversation. Come curious, leave connected!
Optional: bring an item that ties in with the topic to share your story with others (e.g., a memory, a photograph, an object, etc.).

The Travelling Lens: How We See and Photograph the World
When you take a picture in a new place, what are you really capturing? This conversation takes a closer look at photography from British India in the nineteenth century and explores its relevance today. We’ll challenge you to look at not just your own travel photos but all images of “other” places: What stories do these images tell? What stories are not told? How and why do these images persist? Whether printed or digital, bring your own photographs to share and add to the conversation!
