Canada Council for the Arts
- Who it’s for: Professional Canadian artists, groups, and arts organizations
- What they fund: Research, training, creation, production, programming/engagement with audiences nationally and internationally
- How it works: Multiple deadlines per year depending on the funding stream
Ontario Arts Council
- Who it’s for: Ontario-based professional artists, groups, and organizations
- What they fund: A range of arts activities and disciplines. Grants fall under Project Grants or Operating Grants
- How it works: Staggered deadlines throughout the year based on funding stream
Mississauga Arts Council
- Who it’s for: Individual artists and groups/collectives based in Mississauga
- What they fund: Artist-led projects and community impact initiatives across all disciplines
- How it works: Two intake rounds per year (Spring and Fall) for Matchmaker MicroGrants
City of Mississauga
- Who it’s for: Registered community groups, festival organizers, music promoters
- What they fund: Operations, projects, festivals, live music events
- How it works: Major grants have a Fall deadline. Live Music Grants open and close in Spring.
Ontario Creates
- Who it’s for: Corporations, organizations, publishers in Film/TV, Music, Books, Magazines, and Digital
- What they fund: Business development, marketing, production
- How it works: Program-specific deadlines
FACTOR
- Who it’s for: Musicians, songwriters, record labels, music industry professionals
- What they fund: Sound recordings, marketing, tour support, video production
- How it works: Rolling deadlines for some programs and fixed dates for others
Ontario Trillium Foundation
- Who it’s for: Registered charities and incorporated non-profits in Ontario
- What they fund: Capital grants, programming, and organizational capacity
- How it works: Distinct streams (Seed, Capital, and Grow) with specific deadlines each year
Mississauga Foundation
- Who it’s for: Registered charities and not-for-profits serving the Mississauga community.
- What they fund: Community-led projects that address social, arts, and/or cultural needs
- How it works: Five funding streams across areas of need in the community
Hazel McCallion Foundation for the Arts, Culture, and Heritage
- Who it’s for: Non-profit organizations and heritage groups in Mississauga
- What they fund: Projects that grow Mississauga’s arts, culture, and heritage community
- How it works: Applications received on a rolling basis
