Intro to Encaustic Art

This beginner workshop will introduce you to the medium of Encaustic painting. This centuries old art form works with a specially formulated blend of materials to create a coloured beeswax for hot wax paintings.

The introductory class will be a “Freestyle” class to teach you about the medium and how to mix your own colours. You will learn how this medium moves and blends to create your own piece to take home.

As you begin to work with the medium and learn how this hot wax flows you will begin to be able to make more deliberate and intentional brush strokes.
