The Play Reading Club makes its debut in Mississauga!!!
SAWITRI Theatre and Nautanki Bazaar Productions will read Faezeh Jalali’s award-winning play “Shikhandi – The story of the In-betweens” which is a comic retelling of the earliest trans-character in mythology, from the great Indian epic – Mahabharata.
Mixing the traditional with the contemporary, the play questions maleness, femaleness, and everything in between.
The play was a runner-up at the Sultan Padamsee Playwriting Awards 2016. “Shikhandi” was also awarded Best Play at the Laadli Media Awards 2017 and Best Ensemble & Best Supporting Actor (Female) at META 2018.
